Aram has studied in the middle school of Kasakh. When he was ten years old, he and his family moved to Doni Rostov where at the age of fifteen Aram got accepted to the “Arevik” children’s choir. During those years the future singer also occupied himself with sports and other fields of art. He has also been a member of painting and sculpture clubs. When Aram was in the ninth grade, he finally decided to get accepted to the humanitarian school of Doni Rostov.

The singer began his career in 2004 after placing first in the first round of the “Song of the Year of Armenia” contest. That same year Aram decided to return to Armenia and continue his singing career.

In 1997 she graduated from school, and in the same year she entered Yerevan State Song Theatre. She had already finished music school and as she didn’t had extra classes; a good violinist didn’t come out of her. She has sung in many child’s bands, but frankly speaking, she didn’t had an idea that one fine day she will get a salary, her most expensive, the highest and the first wage of $50 USD. Christine purchased a gold chain for her. It was the most precious chain for her. She remembers how happy she was. Now she has great many chains, but the most memorable and unforgettable was the first salary and her small, modest chain.

In 1997 she entered Grigor Zohrap University, but as she couldn’t pay the tuition fees she was dismissed from the third course. After working in State Song Theatre for 6 years Christine was informed that she is already unemployed. In 2003, January 13 she was appeared in the street. Frankly speaking she is grateful to the administration of theatre and to all her colleagues in the theatre. Christine learned a lot there, it may sound strange but she is thankful for her unemployment too. There is an old saying. “If everything is bad, dramatically bad, you needn’t get disappointed. Every bad is a start of some new good.”

And a new period started in her life. Contract with P production in the result of the joint work, on January 31, 2004 Christine Pepelyan’s first and long-expected CD was released. However, the biggest dream of her life, how strange it may sound, doesn’t have ties neither with career, nor awards. She dreams of having a healthy family, to love and be loved, and have 4 children. For her it is important to be loved not only as a performer but also to be loved and accepted by people simply as a person.

A Splinter is an alternative world music band with a bilingual repertoire. The songs are based on real-life experiences, covering a wide array of topics from romance to war. They are written as stories which splinter off from the norm, dancing about in a warm breeze or lodging under your skin in a storm, making you deal with often ignored realities, while challenging you to find ways to laugh at it all, even through tears. A Splinter’s songs are written and performed in Armenian and English, but the music is universal. The band is continuously evolving and experimenting, setting off the listener on a truly unique journey. Grigor and Arthur Tagakchyans’ video of A Splinter’s ‘Visit’ portrays the transformed lives of people discovering a connection with their motherland through photographs of Armenian greats from the past. Ellenie, the very talented Armenian-American recording artist and choreographer from Los Angeles is our Artist of the Month for November 2011. We congratulate Ellenie in what appears to be the start of a whirlwind musical career. In fact, within 24 hours, Ellenie racked up over 250 votes, catapulting her into first place when we posed the question of “who should be our next Artist of the month” to the members of our Official Facebook page.

Ellenie’s most recent performance was held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live on October 21, 2011, during Armenchik’s concert. Ellenie featured her debut songs “Don’t Cry For Me” and “Edge of the Night” along with a group of dancers (Ellenie’s dance company IDWT) to an audience of over 7,000. The two tracks she made available to download on soundcloud immediately reached its download limit and as fans ask, where they can get it? Ellenie has informed us that her two hit songs will be available on itunes within a week.

Arni Rock (Vahe Akhperjanyan) – started studying DJing in 2001. It was a time when he decided to take his love of electronic music to the new level. After playing at some parties he decided to continue his career as a DJ when he will be able to mix not only the music of famous artists but also his own creations. By that time the first female DJ in Armenia, Dj Vakcina had already noticed him and invited him to be a guest DJ on her weekly radio show “Club Time with DJ Vakcina”. Starting from 2005 till present days Arni Rock is representing his electronic music sets on radio: at first on Radio Hay (105.5 FM) and present days Nor Radio (90.3 FM). Besides being a guest DJ on radio he now manages the background music of some cafes’ and also known among people from diaspora as a wedding DJ. Recently he and Apricota (Armenian commercial project) had been invited to take part as a guest DJs in international art festival “Encounters on Borders” hosted in Ijevan.

Haik Solar (Hayk Harutyunyan) - (member of Apricota commercial project) studied music in the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory from 2002-2007, faculty of wind instruments, flute. Although he was learning classical music but by the time he began to show an interest to electronic music as well which in 2006 became a reason to take DJing classes in school of DJ Groove, Moscow. Returning back to Armenia in the same year he wrote a song for hip-hop/R’n'B band H.A.Y.Q. “Qami Pchi” which later became the Hit Of The Year and won the award of Armenian Music Awards. Till present days Hayk Harutyunyan is known as a member of “Apricota” project which produces commercial hit music for Armenian music industry and at the same time taking part at parties as a guest DJ. The addition of Kevin Katich on drums and Steven Cook on bass in the later half of 2011 solidified Edge of Paradise’s line up. With a plethora of musical tastes and backgrounds ranging from classical to blues, metal and hardcore, Edge of Paradise shows no limitations with their writing ability and style. September 15th, 2011 marks the release of the bands debut CD “Mask”. With a solid promotional team including Chipster P/R and Skateboard Marketing to handle press and radio, along with a killer video for the band’s title track “Mask”, the band is now looking forward to the future. During one of their past live shows, Music Connection Magazine described the band “as a tight, well oiled machine”. The band is now ready to bring that machine to the people, and will be looking to tour heavy to spread the sound of Edge Of Paradise!

Margarita Monet, born Margarita Martirosyan on Feb 1990 is a singer / songwriter, actress and a pianist.Performing since a very early age, she has made her way from Europe to the United States. Margarita is an accomplished pianist with a vast classical repertoire. She started music lessons at the age of four and quickly accelerated into a competitive and performance ready pianist. She has competed and won awards in numerous piano competitions.

Moving to Houston, she attended high School For The Performing and Visual Arts, for musical theater. After intense training she decided to pursue her career further and moved to New York after getting accepted into New York University’s Tisch School Of The Arts. At NYU she majored in Theater at the Meisner studio and minored in Music. While living in New York, she has acted in Off Broadway plays, independent short and feature films and sang with local bands at the city’s clubs.

Margarita moved to LA in 2010 after getting interest from various acting agencies in LA. A week later after arriving in Hollywood she joined a singing and dancing group and recorded on their album Angels De Amor, after various shows she went solo and started working with producer in LA on her solo album. While working on the songs, she met Dave Bates, who was in search of singer who had the ability to fill Robin McCauley’s shoes. Soon their music partnership created tremendous results and solidified the band that took up the new name, Edge Of Paradise.

Armenian singer Born in Basrah, Iraq

Shiraz’s love and desire for music was embedded in him since he was a baby.  His first performance was in front of his family when he was one year of age.  During his teenage years, Shiraz’s strong faith in God led him to join the church choir in Baghdad–performing solo and with the choir.  Over the years, Shiraz began performing at Armenian community events.  Since as early as he can remember, he has always loved to sing and perform for others.

When Shiraz moved to America in 1999, he continued with his passion to sing and began performing at local Armenian restaurants/clubs, weddings, Armenian events, and many other special occasions.  His passion to sing has only grown over time.  He released his debut album on October 21, 2010.  Shiraz’s goal in life is to continue singing and bring joy to his fans all around the world.  He appreciates all the support he has received from all of his friends, family and fans over the years.

To date, Shiraz has released five music videos, Hars Es Dartsel, Havata, Miteh, Haneluk Es, and Hayrenkits Heru. These music videos have debuted on several Armenian music channels. Shiraz has a continued desire to volunteer his time and give back to the Armenian community.

Shiraz has a strong connection to his Armenian roots and he believes that Armenians should be proud of their heritage and culture.

Yesayan recorded her first album of traditional Armenian songs in 1991. It was produced by Garbis Titizian and Prime Entertainment. Arthur Hagopian, who was part of Yesayan’s first amateur band, arranged the album using modern instruments and contemporary arrangements. The music video for her rendition of the folks song “Kele Lao” was an immediate hit in the Armenia Diaspora and a regular staple of the US-based Armenian television station, Horizon TV.

After the fall of the Soviet Union, harsh economic conditions in Armenia forced Yesayan to seek employment opportunities abroad. Her abilitly to sing in many languages and in various styles won her contracts at 5-star hotels in the Middle East. During her concerts and small-venue shows, Yesayan sang contemporary hits, pop and jazz standards and songs in English, Arabic, French and Armenian.

Upon her return to Armenia in 1997, Yesayan partnered again with Prime Entertainment in an effort to distribute her CD’s internationally. Executive Producer Garbis Titizian arranged for the release of Yesayan’s first CD and the recording and distribution of her second album, “Who Knows.”

In 1998, Yesayan formed her own band, which continues to work with her today. Together with her musicians, Yesayan took her band on the road throughout Armenia, performing benefit concerts for the Armenia Fund, an organization which fund the development of Armenia’s infrastructure.

Yesayan’s North American debut took place at the Pasadena Civic Center Auditorium in Southern California. Because of her hit music videos and popular CD’s, Yesayan sold out her first concert in the US and enjoyed unexpected and unprecedented attention during her appearances at Armenian schools and record stores.

Since the release of “Kavare Mer” and “Who Knows” in 1998 and 1999,Yesayan has released one new album each year including “World” in 2000, “Nune” in 2001, “Love” in 2002, “Sayat Nova” in 2003, “Me” in 2004 and her International Album in 2005. Her musical range has expanded from singing traditional Armenian folk songs to include singing new songs written specially for her.

Each and every one of Yesayan’s concerts in the United States, Canada, England, France, Syria, Lebanon, Greece, Argentina, Australia, Russia and Armenia have sold out weeks in advance. Her concert in honor of those who lost their lives during the terror attacks on September 11, 2001, was attended by nearly eight thousand people and mentioned on the CNN “World Report” and the Mir and Associated Press television news services.

Yesayan’s most notable concert venues have included the Hamaleer Sport Complex in Armenia, the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, the Kodak Theater in Hollywood and the Lincoln Center in New York City. She has also appeared in concert with famed Armenian-Persian singer Andy and French idol Patrick Fiori. Her largest audiences to date was at a charity concert she performed at the Cascade in Yerevan. The open-air concert attracted more than 35,000 fans.

Even mainstream American media, including the New York Times and Boston Globe, have taken note of her fame and written about her phenomenal fame and status among her people and her impact on the world of Armenian music.

Nune Yesayan

“I was born in 1977 on July 4 , in Yerevan. I finished the secondary school 122 simultaneously attending classes in the music school after Avet Gabrielyan. I entered the Gladzor University , the Department of journalism. While studying there for three years ,I understood that music is my world and decided to enter the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas, the Department of vocal , but I couldn’t continue it as I left for USA. I have been singing since my childhood but at the age of 17, I started to compose songs. My debut was in the authorial song festival “Bohem”, where I presented my song “Garun” . For two years I worked in the studio “Ardzaganq”, during that period I recorded six songs and had some concerts almost in all the regions of RA. Since 1998 I have been working in the State Song Theater as a soloist. I was in Sochi, Yalta, Los Angeles and Kharabakh on tours . When I am tired or want to be alone , I find peace only at the water. I like all the colors, except yellow. I am very romantic and try to be honest with people as much as I can. My motto is Go ahead always trusting yourself”.

Antoine Bezdjian born on May 7, 1970, in Beirut, Lebanon, moved to the United States in 2004. Prior to his arrival in the United States, Antoine had studied vocal and music in the Hamazkayin Parsegh Ganatchian Musical Academy and continued taking private lessons with the renowned Classical vocalist, Mrs. Takouhi Tekian. Antoine’s first breathtaking performance took place in 1989 at The Dynasty Palace in Beirut, Lebanon during a Valentine’s Day Dinner Dance, where he left his audience in a standing ovation. This experience confirmed him that he had found his yearning, which was to perform and sing in front of a live audience. Antoine held his first sold out concert on May 5, 1991 at Hagop Der Melkonian Amphitheatre in Beirut, Lebanon. His devotion to music was brought out through his vocal talents and remarkable performance which incurred command performances. Since then Antoine has made six albums all arranged by Armen Aharonian ,Khatchig Malkhassian, Joe Baroutjian and Seto Baghdasarian, and lyrics from Hripsime Assadourian, Vatche Bozoyan, and Joe Tashdjian. Antoine has had many requests and has put on astounding performances outside of Lebanon and the United States such as, Syria, Kuwait, Greece, France, Italy, England, Cyprus, Jordan, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates.
