JAQ Hagopian is a very well known singer in the Armenian, Arabic, and Assyrian communities who has always been known for his strong feelings and passion for music. He performs at several different events, year-round, such as barhantes’s (all over the USA), weddings, engagement parties, christenings, birthdays, and works in clubs in the New York area every Friday and Saturday night.
JAQ’s style reaches out to many Armenian hearts because he sings in so many different languages and styles. In Armenian his style extends to the many different regions in Armenia, as well as in Arabic where he sings in Syrian, Lebanese, Egyptian, Khaligi, Qedoud 7alabi, Jizrawi and Assyrian. Although JAQ sings many old and traditional songs, he also has many new songs that fulfill his goal of capturing the Armenian youth’s hearts and keeps them listening to his music, in turn making them stay close to their culture and appreciate their culture in every aspect. With his music, voice, and unique positive character, as well as his generosity and the willingness to help the Armenian community in each and every way he can, JAQ has voluntarily done many community events and will continue to in order to help Armenians stay close to their culture.
JAQ has a close bond with most Armenian and Arabic musicians from all over the world and respects and loves each and every one of them as well as their unique styles. JAQ has a very close bond with his band, The Ararat Band of New Jersey. Not only do they have work relations but they are very brotherly and family-like, especially with their respected composer, Mr. Vicken Makoushian. JAQ’s band also varies from a one man band to a 13 peace band, depending on your needs and wants. JAQ is known for always filling the listeners hearts with the art of music, and is always open to hear opinions and requests from his fans. As always, JAQ is thankful and most grateful for his supporters and fans throughout the years.
