Emmy and Essaï – Erebuni Yerevan – Video Premiere
‘Erebuni Yerevan’ is a classic song sung by many throughout the decades, it’s the official national Hymn of the city Yerevan. Lyrics were originally written by Paruyr Sevak and the music by Edgar Hovhannisyan. Many choirs and Armenian singers have their own versions and I remember singing it as a child in Los Angeles when I was part of the Homenetmen Scouts. Every time I hear it, I have fond memories of my childhood, I am sure many of us do! Today, Armenian pop star Emmy along with singer Essaï Altounian released their own version of the great song, which we would categorize as more of a pop version but still keeping the original melodies in tact. We think they did an absolute brilliant job in modernizing a beautiful song! Produced and Arranged by Essaï, video directed by P. Nogueras and C. Bron. Enjoy!
