Mihran Kirakosian – Pulse Artist Of The Month – October 2009

At just 24 years of age, dancer/choreographer Mihran has already attained powerhouse status. Through talent, determination and perseverance, he has broken all barriers to become one of the most sought after dancers to the biggest names in the industry. Born in Armenia, Mihran grew up in a household filled with talent. His father was a famous dancer/choreographer in Armenia, and his mother a singer. It didn’t take long for Mihran to realize performing was in his future.
Through all of his dedication, his drive and energy, he landed some pretty impressive gigs. To name a few, Mihran has toured with and been a dancer to Britney Spears, Pink, Ricky Martin, Lil’ Kim and the one and only Madonna! In fact, Mihran toured with two of Madonna’s worldwide tours, “The Re-Invention Tour” and “The Confessions Tour”. Although dancing is one of the great passions of Mihran, Hip Hop is the cornerstone to his life and style. He released a Hip Hop album in 2007 titled “It’s My Time”. Mihran also released a song featuring Danity Kane’s own Aundrea Fimbres called “Playin Me”. In the meantime, he landed some acting gigs as well, both for T.V and the big screen. Mihran can be seen in “You Got Served”, “Reno 911″, “Lincoln Heights”, “17 Again” and “The Closer”. In 2008 he took most of the year off to create and re-create his sound, the mixture of Armenian Cultural music with his love of Hip Hop. The end result is a fresh, bold and entertaining album. On September 11, 2009 Mihran released his second album titled “United Streets of ARMerica”
The following is an excerpt from Mihran himself:
“I mixed my Armenian cultural sounds and instruments with the mix of today’s Hip Hop music. This way my fans get the best of both worlds. I am Armenian, however, I have grown up in America and truly appreciate being Armenian-American. In this album I was glad to bring together the essence of my experiences from all of the cultures I consider being a part of. I talk about where I’m from and I represent every Armenian around the world. My music is all about dance, performance, my life experiences and it has a very positive vibe. It’s about reuniting everyone around the world no matter the religion or nationality”.
